Creating Japanese Gardens
Philip wrote ‘Creating Japanese Gardens’ after working and studying with a Master of Garden Design and Tea Ceremony, Professor Kinsaku Nakane, in Kyoto. The forward is written by Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe. It is published in both UK and USA, and distributed worldwide.
The book takes the reader through philosophy and meaning, referencing to important historic gardens, and then onto the various design techniques that are uniquely used, concluding with details of how to construct them. It includes some examples of Philip’s own designs for Japanese gardens and those inspired by this living tradition.
